Joe The Plumber: Put A Fence On The Border And Start Shooting

Samuel Wurzelbacher — the Ohio GOP congressional candidate better known as Joe the Plumber — is always hoping to inspire an eye-popping headline. At a Monday night fundraiser for Arizona State Senator Lori Klein, the Tea Party favorite expounded on his unapologetically draconian solution for illegal immigration:

“For years I’ve said, you know, put a damn fence on the border going to Mexico and start shooting. I’m running for Congress and that should be a bad thing to say. But you know what, it’s how I feel…I want my borders protected, I’m very, very adamant about that.”

Wurzelbacher’s latest diatribe lines up well with his well known disdain for gun control — a principal cause, in Wurzelbacher’s revisionist narrative, of the death of six million Jews during the Holocaust.

Senator Klein is an ardent defender of the Second Amendment as well. Back in July 2011, during an interview with The Arizona Republic‘s Richard Ruelas, Klein withdrew a pink, loaded Ruger .380 handgun from her purse and — demonstrating the laser sight — pointed it at the reporter’s chest.

“Oh, it’s so cute,” she gushed.
